Top 5 European Football League’s Betting Action 6/7 February Including Liverpool v Manchester City
Europe’s’ top football teams continue to battle it out for top spots in their respective leagues. With a major fixture of recent champions in the Premier League, a clash of titans in Serie A and Le Classique in Ligue 1 all taking place, it is certainly a bumper weekend of betting action to focus on!
Premier League: Liverpool v Manchester City
Arguably two of the PremierLeagues best performing teams of recent years, Manchester City will travel the short distance of 34 miles to face Liverpool at Anfield this weekend. City sit on top of the table, however, a win for the reds would take them within 1 point of the leaders. Klopp has seen a string of injuries that have depleted his defensive options and will have to rely on pulling team captain Henderson into the backline to help fill in the gaps. Mo Salah the league’s top scorer will be looking to add to his 15 goal tally having scored twice last weekend at West Ham.
City are not without their own injury woes. The ever influential midfielder De Bruyne will be missing for several weeks, but with five wins in their last five outings, City are bang in form and Guardiola knows a 7 point cushion over rivals Liverpool would be a big statement at this stage in the competition. Although it’s tight, the bookie’s fancy City to take the points back to Manchester.
This is the game of the weekend and a ticket for either team to rise up the rankings. Keep an eye out for more exclusive bonuses and offers around this game.
La Liga: Atletico Madrid v Celta Vigo
Recent form shows these two clubs heading in completely different directions. Atletico has won all of their previous five matches placing them firmly on top of the table, 10 points clear of Barcelona and fierce rival Real Madrid. Indeed, Suarez, who Barca let leave in the summer is certainly showing his worth with an outstanding 14 league goals for Atletico this season.
Celta Vigo know a win could turn the tide for them this season, manager Coudet will be feeling the pressure if they don’t get something from this very difficult fixture. A loss would see Celta Vigo without a win in six and clearly looking at the wrong end of the table. As for the bookmakers, they have Atletico as clear favourites to take all 3 points.
Serie A: Juventus v Roma
Games don’t come much bigger than this in Italy. Two giants of Italian football are separated by only one point and are placed in third and fourth respectively. Both teams still have aspirations of catching the Milan teams and holding onto their Champions league positions.
Once again Cristiano Ronaldo is proving to be unstoppable, 15 goals and top scorer in the Serie A. Meanwhile, Roma’s Mayoral has hit a fine patch of form scoring 3 in his last two matches, and with the excellent Mkhitaryan pulling the strings in midfield it promises to be a game not to be missed. On paper this looks like it could be very tight, the bookies, however, don’t think so. They have Juve down to pick up the points.

Bundesliga: Schalke v RB Leipzig
Schalke sit firmly rooted to the bottom of the Bundesliga with only one win all season and conceding an incredible 49 goals. Having recently sacked manager David Wagner, Schalke have turned to Swiss manager Christian Gross to try and revive their form and maintain their place in the Bundesliga.
Leipzig’s consistency has let them down lately, dropping 8 points in the previous five matches. Bayern has increased their lead to 7 points at the top over Leipzig whilst Wolfsburg have picked up full points recently, narrowing the gap Leipzig held over them. With Schalke fighting for survival, this game may not be as straight forward as most pundits predict.
Ligue 1: Marseille v PSG
Le Classique, Olympique de Marseille vs Paris Saint Germain is one of French footballs biggest rivalries, both teams having won the league 19 times between them. Although only placed 9th in the table, Marseille will be desperate to get back to winning ways after struggling with their form in recent weeks. The uncertain circumstances surrounding manager Villa Boas’s untimely departure could affect the performance of the team, who will replace him remains to be seen.
At the same time, PSG can not afford to drop any more points having lost surprisingly at Lorient last weekend. Top scorer Mbappe, Icardi and Neymar provide PSG with multiple options going forward, for Marseille Dimitri Payet and Florian Thauvin will be wanting to put one over their rivals PSG. Even with Marseille playing at home in the Velodrome the bookmakers already have them as rank outsiders for the win.
