MansionBet Sportsbook to cease operations on March 31st 2022
Mansion Group has announced that their sportsbook operation will cease to operate as of March 31st 2022. The MansionBet brand, a UK Online Bookmaker, will no longer accept bets, make deposits or cash open bets and will be “closed to all customers” as of the end of the month.
MansionBet has stated on their website that “All winning bets will be credited as normal up until 31 March 2022. Any open bets that conclude as winners after the closing date, when bet slips become unavailable on-site, will be honoured and paid out in full until Friday 28 April 2023. If you have an open bet based on an event that occurs after 28 April 2023, your stake will be returned.”
The Mansion Group made the announcement whilst deciding to focus more on the other brand names that the group operates. More development will go towards MansionCasino.om, Casino.com and SlotsHeaven.com that all operate in the UK online casino market. The group are also hoping to spread their wings into the Canadian online casino market by obtaining a gaming licence in Ontario for their flagship brand casino.com.
For existing sports betting customers at MansionBet concerned about their accounts and ongoing bets Mansion Group chief executive, Christian Block said “To minimise impact on consumers, we have ensured our customers’ future winnings continue to be paid out, and stakes will be returned regardless of the outcome. Finally, I would like to thank all our colleagues and partners for building the sportsbook brand, and our loyal customers for their support throughout.”
Although MansionBet lent its support to the UK horse racing industry sponsoring more than 360 races last year, the sportsbook was not one of the big five leading bookmakers in the UK who dominate the sports betting market. Industry experts see this as a growing trend, saying other smaller operators will follow in the footsteps of MansionBet as a reflection of the competitiveness of the market.
