Top 5 European Football League’s Betting Action 23/24 April Including West Ham vs Chelsea

It’s been an explosive week on European football with the announcement and then the collapse of a breakaway European Superleague. 12 of Europe’s top clubs faced a backlash from fans and players alike over the introduction of the flawed idea of the elite league.

Until now the league is suspended and normal service can resume as we head into the home stretch of Europe’s top leagues. Whereas some scramble for champions league places, it’s a dogfight at the bottom of the pile to avoid relegation. Who will survive?

Premier League: West Ham United vs Chelsea

This match is more than just a London derby. It is a battle of the coveted champions league place with the hosts currently at 4th place while the ‘Blues’ just a point behind in 5th place.

Tuchel’s men come into this tie at the back of a 1-0 win over their rivals Manchester City in an F. A Cup semi-final. On the other hand, the ‘hammers’ suffered a disappointing defeat by Newcastle. Whilst having eight clean sheets in their last 12 matches, Chelsea faces a free-scoring Jesse Lingard with nine goals so far for West Ham.

Surprisingly,  the bookies clearly fancy Chelsea to pick up the points, West Ham are a great price to win this all-important London Derby.

This is the game of the weekend and a ticket for either team to rise up the rankings. Keep an eye out for more exclusive bonuses and offers around this game.

La Liga: Real Madrid vs Real Betis

With only seven games left in the Spanish La Liga, second-placed Real Madrid host sixth-placed Real Betis at Alfredo di Stéfano Stadium. The ‘Galacticos’ are in superb form with 11 unbeaten games with an average of 2 goals per match in the last eight wins.

Draws have featured highly in Real Betis form with three straight draws, including last weekends against Valencia. Interestingly, considered as the underdogs, Betis have managed two wins and a draw against the opposition during the previous five encounters.

With no significant injuries in their squad, Betis will be wary of in-form Benzema, who has scored four goals in the last six matches. Madrid go into this match as clear favourites as far as the bookmakers are concerned, can Real Betis pull a surprise at of the hat.

Serie A: Lazio vs AC Milan

AC Milan is hopeful of ending their ten-year drought of a Serie A title after closing the gap with inter by 2 points. The ‘Rossoneri’ travel to Rome for a Monday evening kick-off against an unbeaten Lazio in their last four Serie A outings.

The latest contest between the two saw a five-goal thriller with Milan emerging victorious. Going into this match, both teams have displayed defensive frailties failing to record cleans sheets in most of their games.

Immobile and Zlatan, although doubtful with a thigh injury, could extend their goal tally. Currently, Immobile has 16 goals while Zlatan has 15 goals. The betting odds are very close on this match, the betting sites offering no clear favourite to take all 3 points.

Bundesliga: Wolfsburg vs Dortmund

Wolfsburg charge for their first Champions League spot since 2015/16 is still alive despite losing their last two games. However, their form against the team’s top of the table is worrying. Last six games, the hosts have one win and one draw.

Meanwhile, Dortmund needs to close the five-point gap to qualify for next season’s Champions League. If the performance in their last match is anything to go by, the charge is on!

There is news for Dortmund fans as Coach Edin Terzic announces Jadon Sancho is training with the squad, though not expected to feature in the match. Perhaps due to Wolfsburg’s recent lapse of form the bookmakers are giving Dortmund the edge with slightly better odds to win.

Ligue 1: Lyon vs Lille

Lille seeks to bring back the glory days of 2010/11 when they last won the Ligue 1 title. Gameweek 34 will see Galtier Christophe’s men head to Parc Olympique Lyonnais to take on 4th placed Lyon.

Lille suffered a slump last weekend when Montpellier held them at home, thanks to Luiz Araujo’s 85th-minute goal. The visitors will take great courage from their performance away from home, registering four wins and one draw in the last five matches.

Losing only one home game since March, Lyon is also worthy title contenders with only three points separating the two teams. Recent meetings have been characterized by draws, with three draws in their last five matches. As far as the bookies are concerned, they expect a home win, watching Lyon continue their charge to the title.
