Top 5 European Football League’s Betting Action 17/18 April Including Leeds United vs Liverpool

None of Europe’s top football leagues have any confirmed champions as of yet. Manchester City and Inter Milan are runaway leaders in their respective leagues, however, the race for the top spot is still very tight in the Bundesliga, La Liga and Ligue 1. Teams are also jostling for place’s to qualify for European qualification, as we head into the final stages of the season, every point matters!

Premier League: Leeds United v Liverpool

Two giants of English football, Leeds United and Liverpool meet at Elland Road this weekend in what is an important match for both teams. There have been some classic encounters between the two sides in the past, this game promises goals too, both teams are playing some of the most attacking football in the Premier League.

Klopp’s men are wrestling with West Ham and Chelsea for a Champions League spot, the points are vital for Liverpool to stand a chance of playing in Europe next season. Klopp should have a full squad to choose from, Diogo Jota is back from injury and already hitting the back of the net. Liverpool might have bowed out of the title race, but every point on the remaining fixtures count.

Leeds United haven’t lost in the last four games, an emphatic win over league leaders Manchester City last weekend was surely the standout result of the weekend. Bielsa’s men are playing with confidence and desire, they will be looking to finish the season in the top half of the table. The team will fully understand what a victory over their old rivals will mean to the fans. Stuart Dallas will hope to replicate his excellent form against Liverpool, however, the Mighty Whites will be without captain Liam Cooper due to his red card last week.

As far as the betting goes the bookies have Liverpool down as clear favourites, don’t be surprised if Leeds can prove them wrong for the second week running.

This is the game of the weekend and a ticket for either team to rise up the rankings. Keep an eye out for more exclusive bonuses and offers around this game.

La Liga: Atletico Madrid v Eibar

Every point for Atletico Madrid is essential for the remaining 5 matches as Wanda Metropolitano welcomes the bottom-placed Eiber. Atletico will not want to slip up as Barcelona and Real Madrid chase Diego Simeone’s men to the finish line, a win for them will help them maintain the summit’s narrow lead.

With Joao Felix ruled out of the Eiber game, Simeone will dig deep into his offensive options to keep his hold on the La Liga silverware. Eiber still has hopes of evading relegation if they can collect a point from this fixture. The bookmakers clearly don’t see Eibar picking up any points here, Atletico are clear favourites.

Serie A: Napoli v Inter Milan

Runaway leaders Inter Milan visit 5th placed Napoli at the San Paolo stadium. Although Inter has an 11 points cushion from second-placed AC Milan. A win will cement their hold on the Serie A, a trophy they last won 10 years ago. With Lukaku finding his footing under Conte, Inter is the team to beat this season.

Napoli are no pushover either and are still in contention for a Champions League spot. They have 5 wins in 6 games; a feat only surpassed by Inter. With Ranieri still in doubt after Insigne’s link out of the club, he has to utilise him while there is time. A win for Napoli will keep the pressure on Atalanta and Juventus and a place for the Champions League spots.

Although Napoli are playing at home, the betting sites still fancy Inter to pick up maximum points and continue their march to finish as champions this year.

Bundesliga: Wolfsburg v Bayern

With 4 games to go, Bayern has a 5 points advantage when they will visit the Wolfsburg VW Arena. Their Champions League dream is over after being dumped out by PSG, and their only consolation is to finish strong in the Bundesliga and retain the title. They will rely on Muller since their talisman Lewandowski is still in doubt.

Wolfsburg has a young team whose progressive football has taken them this far. If they take a point or the maximum, they will close the gap on the second-placed Leipzig. The charging Baku is an asset to the team, thanks to his overlapping stints. The betting odds are in Bayern’s favour, however, will the disappointment of the midweek loss in the Champions League affect them, maybe Wolfsburg will take advantage of this disappointing week for Bayern.

Ligue 1: Lille v Montpellier

Lille has so far maintained a healthy lead on Ligue 1, but only hold a 3 point cushion over 2nd placed PSG. Its vital for Lille not to drop points at this stage in the season, not only PSG are chasing them down but Monaco and Lyon are also still in with a chance of claiming the top spot. With over 23 points separating the 2 teams, Montpellier is looking for a second win in 5 games.

Lille might be clear favourites in this fixture, but Montpellier can force a point. The league is still open, and a win from Lille can help them edge closer to their first Ligue 1 title in over 9 years. With youngster Timothy Weah and Renato Sanchez coming of age, a lot can happen in their wake. A bet on Lille looks like easy money, the bookies rating Montpellier as rank outsiders.
