Top 5 European Football League’s Betting Action 26 December- 3 January 2020 Including Leicester City v Manchester United

Most of Europe’s top leagues enjoy a break over the Christmas period and will return fresh-faced in the new year. In the Premier league however its a different story as the games come thick and fast in what can be a defining part of the season.

Premier League: Leicester City v Manchester United

Only one point separates the two teams going into this weekends clash at the King Power Stadium. Leicester sit second in the table after a comfortable win over Tottenham last week and a win here would see the Fox’s take a four-point lead over third-placed United. United’s defence will have to be at their best, Jamie Vardy is in top form having already scored 11 goals this season.

Manchester are on a fine run of form, not losing any of the last five matches. A solid midfield has helped tighten up what was a leaky defence with the excellent Bruno Fernandes also firing in the goals at the opposite end of the pitch. The bookmakers are expecting this to be a close call, giving United a slight edge to win.

This is the game of the weekend and a ticket for either team to rise up the rankings. Keep an eye out for more exclusive bonuses and offers around this game.

La Liga: Sevilla v Villareal

La Liga fixtures will be delayed until the 29th of the month following Christmas. The standout game sees seventh-placed Sevilla looking to close the gap on fourth-placed Villareal. Sevilla has had a mixed bag of form in recent weeks after a fine start to the campaign. Manager Julen Lopetegui will be looking to getting back to winning ways with the influential Ivan Rakitic and forward Luuk de Jong both available to play.

Villareal are only four points behind leaders Atletico even after drawing four of their previous five games. Gerard Moreno is La Liga’s top scorer with 8 goals so far, he will be looking to add to his tally and cement Villareals position in the top half of the table. The bookies believe Sevilla will take the points here, Villareal’s manager Unai Emery will be thinking otherwise.

Serie A:  Juventus v Udinese

Serie A does not return until January following its Christmas break. Upon its return, Juventus will host Udinese at the Allianz Stadium. Andrea Pirlo’s team will be hoping to continue their push up the table and keep within a distance of the high flying Milan teams.

Udinese, however, needs to bounce back after disappointing draws in their previous two matches slowed down what was a fine run of form. Udinese will be hoping the much-touted Rodrigo De Paul remains with them during the upcoming transfer window, he has been integral in their performances. The betting sites have Udinese as massive outsiders, expecting this to be a routine win for Juve.

Bundesliga: Dortmund v Wolfsburg

Two heavyweight teams battling to take the third spot in the Bundesliga, this will be Germanys feature fixture for the new year. After firing manager, Lucien Favre following a 5-1 loss to Stuttgart, Dortmund has handed the job to his assistant coach Edin Terzic. Being familiar with the team and understanding what the Dortmund support expect, Terzic will be looking for a flying start against Wolfsburg.

Wolfsburgs inconsistency is costing them recently. Three points against Dortmund would give them a five-point cushion over their rivals, a loss would see Dortmund leapfrog Wolfsburg into fourth place. Stopping top scorer Erling Braut Haaland will be key to getting a result and proving the bookmakers wrong, who fancy Dortmund to run away the points here.

Ligue 1: Lille v Angers

Lille will enter the New Year in the first place of Ligue 1 with a slight points advantage over Lyon and PSG. To maintain top spot they will have to overcome a tricky meeting with Angers. Although clear favourites to take the points, Lille will be feeling the pressure of topping the table as we enter the second half of the season and will be disappointed not to have taken all 3 points against PSG last week.

Angers are currently placed ninth in the table and will be expecting a push upwards in the new year. Stephane Bahoken is a key player for Angers and should be fit to play and add to the six goals he has already scored this season.
