Top 5 European Football League’s Betting Action for the weekend 28/29 of August Including Liverpool vs Chelsea

The season is in its opening stages and Europes top 5 football leagues have already begun taking shape. Some familiar high flying faces kicking off the season with back to back wins as well other teams finding themselves in unfamiliar territory at the lower end of the table. This weekend promises an abundance of top-flight football from across Europes elite football leagues.

Premier League:  Liverpool vs Chelsea

Two of the Premier Leagues top teams come face to face at Anfield this weekend. This is by far the showcase game of the weekend in the Premier League, both teams heading into the match unbeaten and without conceding in their two opening matches.

Liverpool currently sits top of the table with a superior goal difference. Jota and Mane scored a goal in each half to convincingly beat Burnley at Anfield with Klopp using a 4-3-3 formation against the Clarets. The return of van Dijk into the starting line-up boosted the team as they have kept 2 clean sheets so far.

Chelsea are playing their best football in years, thanks to their European glory last season. Tuchel rejuvenated the team, getting the best out of Pulisic, Mount and Werner. Lukaku’s signing gave way for Tammy Abraham’s move to AS Roma. Last weekends demolition of Arsenal saw Lukaku return to the Premier League with a goal on his debut. He is looking in great form and will be hoping to continue his goal tally against Liverpool. As for the betting in this match, the bookies are undecided and predict a very tight game with no margin in the odds for either team.

This is the game of the weekend and a ticket for either team to rise up the rankings. Keep an eye out for more exclusive bonuses and offers around this game.

La Liga: Atletico Madrid vs Villareal

Atletico Madrid has a chance to go to the La Liga summit if they beat Villareal this weekend. Rodrigo signing from Udinese strengthened the midfield and their grip on the game. As Diego Simeone begins his 10th season in charge, Atletico are looking to keep hold of the title in what promises to be a fine match against last season’s Europa Cup winners.

Villareal has had a slow start to the 21/22 season with 2 draws. Danjuma and Foyth arrived from the Premier League to strengthen the left-wing and central defence, respectively. As they travel to Wanda Metropolitano in search of their first win, Unai Emery will be hoping to get some points on the board.

Atletico heads into this match as the bookmakers favourite as current champions and with the support of their home supporters on their side.

Serie A: AC Milan vs Cagliari

The league is still young in Italy, with only one game played so far. Olivier Giroud and Fikayo Tomori arrival from Chelsea intends to rejig the team. Other notable inclusions include goalkeeper Mike Maigan from French champions Lille and Sandro Tonali from Brescia.

Cagliari Calcio signed Razvan from Ajax to boost their midfield. They also signed Kevin Strootman and Dalbert from Marseille and Inter Millan on loan, respectively. The two inclusions will solidify their defence. As the season begins, they hope to improve on their 2020/21 16th place finish.

As Cagliari head to the San Siro the bookmakers are not giving them much chance of leaving with any points, AC Milan clear favourites to win.

Bundesliga: Wolfsburg vs RB Leipzig

This weekend in the Bundesliga see’s two of last seasons best performing teams come head to head at the Volkswagen Arena.

Wolfsburg began their 2021/22 season on a high, beating Hertha and VfL in their first 2 games. The 4-2-3-1 allows Maximilian Phillip to play behind Weghorst, with Baku and Steffen on the wings. The formation gives Wolfsburg a formidable attack. Late goals from Baku and Nmecha gave Van Bommel his first away win this season.

RB Leipzig came back after their matchday 1 loss to beat VfB Stuttgart 4-0. Josko Gvardiol from Dinamo Zagreb, Angelino from Manchester City and Benjamin Henrichs strengthened their defence. Szoboszlai scored a brace to give Jesse Marsch his first win of the season. Marsch might retain the 4-2-3-1 line-up with Andre Silva leading the attack. The bookmakers fancy Leipzig to beat Wolfsburg even though they are playing away from home.

Ligue 1: Reims vs PSG

Reims started the 2021/22 season on a flat foot, collecting 2 points from their first 2 games. They promoted 6 players from their academy and signed brought in Gravillon from Inter on loan. Oscar Gracia hopes to bring in a fresh approach and improve their 14th place finish in the 2020/21 season.

Despite a perfect start of the season, PSG fans are eager to see Messi’s debut. Pochettino prefers playing an exciting 4-1-2-1-2, which might suit Messi’s playmaking role. Matchday 4 will be PSG’s to lose. PSG are absolute favourites to walk away with the points in the bookie’s eyes, some giving odds as low as 1.17. An outside bet on Reims might be worth a punt.
